Leon! I posted that card above! haha. Yeah, not sure what they were thinking there. There's not a great place for the name. Pretty sure they had the art made without considering where they would put the name, as no real great place for it.

I'm not sure if the 1923 Lections is his single best card, but it may be his Holiest of Holies:

. . . or is that "Holiest of Hornsbys"?

In any case, not my card.

I've always had a soft spot for this one.

I choose to think of it as an ultra-rare 1931-ish Times-Dispatch Gossip Section #38 ("Mr. Earl Jordon Found Talking to a Pretty Brunette Girl") with the highly-sought-after Purple Hornsby reverse, though technically of course it's another W517.

My guess is that, years later, after having served time for his egregious behavior, Mr. Earl Jordon married that Pretty Brunette Girl.

Great card!

Love his 1917 Collins McCarthy rookie card. Looks so young in that.

His "1916" UNC Big Head has been proven as not being from 1916, so his true rookie card is the 1917 Collins McCarthy (or Boston Store / Standard Baking)
