Issue 106, March 1983 - I WANT MY MTV!
All 9 known 1983 panels (even fewer this year) are taken from the E and F sheets. E Sheet: McGraw Seaver Sutter AS McGee Candelaria Expos Team Leaders (x3) Quisenberry AS Blue Evans Dent Carlton AS Youngblood Cey Griffin Cruz Fisk AS Moreno Gott Barr Nolan Edler Lynch Werner Glynn Hammaker Wills Roberts Davis Tidrow Maler Ramsey Altamirano O'Malley McCatty Braun Householder F Sheet: Weaver Anderson Brummer Scurry Rucker Stoddard ? ? Rangers Team Leaders Cardinals Team Leaders White Sox Team Leaders Braves Team Leaders (I have an image of these 4 cards, and the auction narrative description cited a Valenzuela, so one of the other two cards is certainly the Dodgers Team Leaders. Because I have been unable to locate an image of the F sheet, the identity of the 6th card is unknown). Morrison, Curtis, King, Hebner, Pittman, Garvin (the narrative lists these 6 cards, but due to the lack of an F sheet image, the arrangement of these cards on the panel is unknown). |

Before I started this thread, I had assumed the panels ceased in 1984, but someone mentioned issue 127 and I discovered 1985 cards had panels as well. They were in the February 1985 issue featuring Duran Duran on the cover.
I was only able to locate 5 panels, 4 from the D sheet and 1 from the C sheet. C Sheet: McGregor DeCinces Kittle Niekro Stewart D Sheet: Johnson Moore Picciolo Falcone Howe Nicosia Dunston Draft Pick Bannister Draft Pick Foli Draft Pick Almon Draft Pick Chambers Draft Pick Burroughs Draft Pick Hernandez Oberkfell Caudill Dernier Morris McMurtry (x2) Manning Garvey Gross Salazar Rogers Lefferts |

Not to take this too far OT, but I saw a commercial recently and got very, very completely depressed.
This ancient relic, sadly, is Erin Gray now... ![]() eringrayold.jpg

To many a pre-teen boy (myself included) Wilma was quite alluring.
ANYWAY! Come to find out that Dynamite also included card panels in their March 1986 edition - another one featuring Michael J. Fox (issue 134). I could only locate 16 copies of this issue online, from which I was able to find evidence of just 3 panels. C Sheet: Hesketh Codiroli Lucas Hawkins Wallach Howell D Sheet: Burns Filer Youngblood Eckersley Dotson James Smith Biancalana Blue Jays Team Leaders Reds Team Leaders Phillies Team Leaders Brewers Team Leaders |

Unless someone has additional information, 1986 is the final year that Dynamite seems to have included Topps panels.
Since I start this exercise, I learned of 3 years they did include panels that I had not previously known - 1974, 1985 and 1986. Circulation must have plummeted in the late 80s as it's hard to even find copies from these years around the net. Now, I suppose, I need to go look at those Hot Dog Magazines.... |
