I have a couple dozen issues of Harper's Weekly but I'm really enjoying the one that arrived today. It's a four page supplement to the May 3, 1890 issue featuring woodcuts of Cap Anson, Tim Keefe, Buck Ewing, King Kelly, and others. It's a nice article, rosters for the upcoming season, along with some artwork and a cartoon. (The book worm was clearly not a White Sox fan though based on how much he chomped out of Comiskey.)

Default 1958-62 Hartland Dick Groat Statue with Box and Tag

It's been a long road but I've now completed the 1958-62 Hartland set including all of the statues, original boxes, and original tags.

My last outstanding items were the Dick Groat Box and Tag. They arrived today :-)

My first Hartland was as a 13 year old in the 80s. I think I saw an ad in Becket Monthly and I saved up for most of a year to buy a Hartland Willie Mays statue. I had that single statue as my only Hartland for decades. It made the move to the UK with me and sat proudly in my study. Then in early 2020, I bought a couple more and kept going.

In order to get the Groat box and tag, I had to buy a big Hartland lot. I'll be selling the extras in BST....please keep a look out for them.

Congrats on an epic accomplishment Gary! Boxes and Tags too... my goodness. Such an iconic set to complete. Hope your visitors in the UK appreciate this as much as we do!

I wonder what the price was, “back in the day.”
