Well, I tried my best to conjure up the spirits of all my baseball heroes of the past to help this current Yankees team...Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Joe DiMaggio, Mickey Mantle. But even they couldn't do it. Congratulations!

Those two buffoons in the stands . . . .

Yankee fans I know trying to justify their conduct. Like this goes on all the time. 50 years never once saw someone try to pry the glove off someone's hand while a friend pins the guy's arm to the wall.

"This is the area I patrol...."

Pathetic. Should be banned for life.

And then I'm asked "why do people hate Yankee fans so much?"

+1. Very happy to see the Dodgers win AND especially the Yankees lose. Dodgers played really great baseball for the most part. Deserved it.

Horrible behavior by those idiots.

Sadly Dodgers fans don't set a high moral bar, either.

"I didn't say anything," Profar continued. "I had to fight with them to catch the ball. They were hitting my glove."

Yankees were 54-49 since June 1. Remarkably bad for a World Series contender. Without Stanton's heroics, they don't even get past Cleveland in the ALCS. And what a wasted WS performance by Cole: 12+ innings, 1 ER.

Those 2 idiots made Philly fans behavior seem mild in comparison, if at least for 1 day.

Hundreds of thousands of LA area Dodger fans can meet at the end of the parade to celebrate the team in an event that will...

Oops, sorry, strike that.

Very soon after the parade ends, at Dodger Stadium which is far enough away that nobody who attended the parade can get to it, there will be a PAID event, with PAID parking, that season ticket holders will have (deservedly) first dibs on.

No prices announced yet...

Typical of a team that hates their average fan...

Doug

A "portion" of the proceeds will go to the team's charitable foundation...

I still don't understand why Cole didn't cover first in that horrific Yankee inning. Come on, man this an elimination WS game. It's your job to do so.

He would not possibly have beaten Mookie to the bag.

The real question is why did it take Rizzo so long to get to the bag? Was he wearing cement shoes?

Kind of the opposite of the Buckner play in 86. But Mookie hit another slow roller up the line …..

Exactly. Make a beeline for first base and take nothing for granted. That should be instinct at this point in his career. You can always get called off and peel away or stop. He took a step or two and then adjusted his angle as if he was headed for the dugout. If he makes that play like he and every MLB pitcher is taught from a fairly young age, Betts is out.
Rizzo is really not much at fault. That ball had obvious spin coming off the end of the bat, sufficient to make him be a bit cautious about simply charging toward the bag. You can see it spinning toward second and he fields it with that motion. If he hard charges and that ball kicks off his glove as its spinning away then two runs score on the play. Plus why would he believe an e xperienced pitcher like Cole would not be doing his job?
Frankly the spin was obvious and Cole should have recognized it. A ball hit off the end of the bat that close to the line is either going to spin (likely) or head straight toward the bag (or foul), and Rizzo was set up between first and second, which again should have alerted Cole to get over either way. My guess he was tired and thought the long-ass inning from hell was over, and just figured he'd head to the dugout. His remarks were simply that he took a bad angle, but that's true IMO only because he did not intend to field or cover and just left it to Rizzo to figure out.
