Sure, it was here. I did a google image search to get this match. Have to scroll down a bit to find the Ted Williams card.

Well, there we have it. Thanks again. I certainly didn't pay $290, but live and learn.

Seller was pretty firm his father got this signed in person in 1958 as a kid ,so clearly that did not happen.

Too bad PSA not as savvy as you in researching.

Certainly not a very common item, it seems. But glad I could help!

The quick opinions are more likely to be looked at by authenticators with not really as much experience as Kevin and Bill who look at the higher end items that need a full letter so they will have a more educated opinion

This was the first time this situation has happened for me. I have had many QO s come back not likely genuine so I've not purchased the item.

I have had Bill look at my items before, but that makes sense that they don't do the QO s.

And clearly here they'd need item in hand to see it was not live ink, which I was clearly mistaken about.

Looks like Ted had a stamp...

They are placed very slightly different, seem to be identical.

As mentioned above, I'd bet that it did not pass the 'live ink' test in person. Hard to make that call from a photo.

It is a really cool piece though, and looks to be pretty scarce also.

Nice pickup.

Thanks, wish I had done a better search (Google image) before sending in to PSA but still happy to have in my Ted collection.
