The point is the slabs have changed and they're substantially less brittle now.

Dremel tool is my go to tool on the rare occasion I need to crack out a card.

Just get yourself a pair of end cutter pliers and cut off the lip all the way around. It'll come apart easily after that. Takes a little longer, but it's not that difficult to do.
