Default Adding Old Puts to the mix

Love seeing all these e98's! Had a great win at Auction last night... was the fortunate winner of maybe a unique card... 'the' orange Davis Old Put. I'm excited to have these unique guys and to continue to see the variations in the set... Im enjoying aiming at the 4-color runs, plus an odd-ball (matching e93 or e97.. or strange color add) for sets of '5'... Ill post some here... thanks everyone that has continued to make this a fun pursuit!

In the final pic, the center Orange Dooin is an e93 front (although not 100% sure of why its not an e98)... but it has an upside down e97 back!

Default E93 Dooin with upside down e97 back

And here's a description from a previous sale... so interesting! (Anyone have definitive reason as to why it would be an e93 front and not e98?)

Thanks all!

The orange Dooin cards you show appear to have a different size projection of the Dooin image compared to the other E98 color cards in your post. This difference in projection appears most notably in the further distance from the top of Dooin's cap to the upper border that is seen in the E93 you showed, as well as the Orange Dooin with the E97 error back. So I assume that is why it was determined to be an E93 front.

Brian

Hi Craig,

I was bidding on that Old Put Davis too! I thought the auction ended on Saturday night and missed the end of the auction on Friday, otherwise it would've cost you a bit more that it did.

I wish you well in your e98 pursuit as I love this set.

Andrew

Default Nice E98s!!!

Craig,
Congrats on landing the Orange Old Put!!! It will go nicely with your growing E98 and Caramel collection!!!! I enjoy watching people who have a passion for their collections no matter how big or small or of whatever value, as long as it is important to them, that is all that matters! I also agree with Brian that the Dooin is definitely an E93 front; but again, it fits nicely with your niche collection!

Thanks Tim and Jerry!
Great catch Brian! Totally see it now that you pointed it out.
