As it should. That's a PSA 1 for sure. 3 is a bit generous and probably graded on a curve. I'd call it a 2.5, but who cares. That card is insane no matter what slab it's in!

Whereever this card lands, I suspect like almost everything else it would have gone for 30-40% more in 2021.

SGC defines this rating as: “90/10 or better centering, corners more rounded—but not excessive, stronger creasing may exist. Poorer focus, registration and discoloration, and staining are more noticeable.” I want to attach this quote every time I send a pre-war sub to SGC, my cards that fit this description usually come back a 1 maybe a 2 if they're generous. Either way it's an incredible card and will be fun to watch the auction. My guess is it eclipses the Mantle by 20%-25%. |

I'd love to know how much the private collector paid the family for this card in 2021.

100 percent. Seller missed the boat on that card.

Seller bought it in 2021 in a private sale. I would be surprised if he is taking a loss on it, but who knows.

The seller will make his money back for the card purchase 15 minutes after the auction starts. In an hour he will be in the green.

While I agree, I believe he could have made more money selling it 1-2 years ago.

100% agree with that prediction. The buyers for a card of that magnitude are not the ones who chased Jordan rookies to $700K and will pay whatever it takes to get the card.
