Is he saying he bet on the Sox, or encouraging the recipient of the card to do so? I'd guess the latter, since starting the sentence off with "I" would've been so simple.

This one came out a bit better with a tiny bit of tweaking in Photoshop afterwards. AI did 95%+ of the work.

It even neatened up the marker that you used to block out the serial number.
