Interesting and improving. Just figured I try it out.

I have to admit the autograph is in doubt since there is no Chas as part of it

Now, if you want variations.

If you don't mind the question - which of the AI tools are you using for this? This is a really neat idea to make a reprint-type set in color.

Greg,

Believe it or not I was considering that. Now, so I am not greedy:

Thank you. This is so cool.

I gave it a rigorously scientific test by taking 3 black and white cards that happened to be on my desk, took a photo with an iPhone, and uploaded it.

Each one of these is a little more challenging than a black and white hpoto. The Red Sun has lime green borders and background discoloration that the tool isn't quite clear on what to do with, but came out looking really nice in most of the settings anyways.

The Mabel Love signed postcard (of N card fame for us non-sports folks) is glossy and difficult to photograph without glare as a result. This one came out basically perfect.

The N310 Mayo Peter Jackson isn't even a B/W photo; it's a sepia toned piece that is some kind of art rendition that presents very photo like. Had to sue some of the more colorful sounding names to get a good copy of it.

I am really impressed at how handled these. I'm going to get nothing useful done this weekend!

Ask ChatGPT if it's real or not.

AI keeps getting exponentially better very quickly. I tried one of these type of things about 7-8 months ago and things weren't nearly as clean/accurate(ish) as they are now.

Here's a 1936 Carreras (UK Tobacco) "Dogs and Friends" of a girl and her whippet.

I agree. 1914 postcard of a guy admitting on the back he bet on the White Sox. The back was left alone.

KCRfan1 10-28-2023 06:20 PM

That's so cool!

Is he saying he bet on the Sox, or encouraging the recipient of the card to do so? I'd guess the latter, since starting the sentence off with "I" would've been so simple.

Could have been either way, but I see your point on "I."

I had to run an Old Judge through and see if I could get anything worthwhile.

This one came out a bit better with a tiny bit of tweaking in Photoshop afterwards. AI did 95%+ of the work.

BillyCoxDodgers3B 10-29-2023 05:56 AM

Obviously not Gehringer's autograph.

That is really neat!

I have a man I found in "Romania" on FIVERR. He has been colorizing my Cepeda collection B/w Transparnecies and images. AI is ok but a professional with photoshop is amazing.

It even neatened up the marker that you used to block out the serial number.
