Al, pretty amazing power for a pitcher, but Baseball Reference shows he had 21 home runs out of 76 hits. Where did you get your stats from?

In his first MLB appearance in 1953 he faced 7 batters and gave up 6 runs on 4 hits, one walk, one hit batter and one wild pitch in 1/3 inning. He did not appear in another MLB game until 1957. But he was on the Phillies roster for all of 1954 because the baby bonus rule then in effect required any rookie signed with a bonus of more than $ 4000 stay on the MLB roster for 2 full years or be released. Qualters made no appearance in 1954 but was on the Phils roster all year
