Is it someone that should be in the HOF, but isn't (yet)?

No, sir. He did have over 1,000 career RBIs, though, so wasn't too much of a slouch. The only way you would ever know it is if you just happened to run across this bit of trivia, as I did while looking up something about (Warning: Hint alert!!!) my Mets.

Love me some Mets trivia, but are we sure Kenny Lofton didn't do it also?

Hint #2:
The reason I 'found' him was because after seeing the homepage thread of "TV episodes with sports stars in them..." I hit his wiki page, because I knew he was on The King of Queens,* but not playing his ballplayer self, just a regular guy. *Don't get me started about how ridiculously Californian the references always were on that show. King of my home borough, Queens???? My ass!!!! More like King of L.A.!!!

I was going to guess Paul Bako because he caught for nearly every team in the Western hemisphere, one season at a time, but that Mets hint throws me.

The Wikipedia page for that player is incorrect, Matt Stairs also homered for eleven different teams.

Are you counting the Expos and Nationals as different teams?

Oakland Kansas City Philly Toronto Pittsburgh Boston Texas San Diego Chicago Cubs Detroit Milwaukee That's 11 teams. Zeile was first to do it but he's not the only player to homer for 11 teams. Last edited by Jim65; 05-06-2023 at 03:51 AM. Reason: Spelling |
