I think what happens with a lot of lazy eBay sellers is that when they list a new item for sale they take a templated prior version and don’t bother adjusting the listing’s key features because that would take additional time and effort.
What irritates me is how many sellers grossly over describe the condition of their listing and the seller still has a 100% rating and a 5.0 for accurate description. |

This is what I mean. How is this seller highly rated? I see this over and over again from so many sellers with perfect ratings.

Sort of related to this thread - why do some sellers use the phrase "Set break" when advertising individual cards? As if that lends some gravitas to the listing?

It's all BS shtick...no different from used cars, or anything being sold.
But the rule is this: if I have it and try to sell it, it isn't worth crap. But if YOU have it, it's incredibly desirable and worth a fortune. It just is what it is.

Keyword spamming....sellers place commonly used search terms in their titles to attract more views. IE. "PSA 10 ?"

My favorite is when they put PSA 10 in the title, but then it's either ungraded, or graded by some bucket shop. Meaning some bucket shop other than PSA.

Not sure if it still works, but including "set break" in your title used to allow the card to bypass ebay's authentication process for some reason.

Sellers continually refusing to take responsibility - usually for attempting to grade raw cards at all - is infuriating. Then when they do & obviously blow it, it's worse. Whatever your thoughts on the TPG'S in the last 25+ years, the fact that their model has led collectors and sellers to bother even less to learn the first thing about raw card grading in the 21st century is not a positive outcome IMO.

This drives me crazy as well because it wastes my time. I always wonder if the guy really believes his card is the condition he claims. Who knows. A bunch of these suckers have high ratings and perfect feedback as sellers! It’s bizzaro world I guess. I try and ignore it but it’s quite annoying lately especially with 70s cards.
