Well I’m so glad that mystery is solved. I’m rather surprised that Dr Pepper wasn’t mentioned on the chip.

Default 1950 Dr. Pepper Baseball Photo Key Chains

So cool these finally have an identification!

I am aware of three more -

Al Kozar, Washington Senators
Bob Feller, Cleveland Indians
Satchel Paige, Cleveland Indians

There are pics of each on worthpoint along with Mickey Vernon already shown.

I purchased the Satchel Paige on eBay about 5yrs ago.

Would love to find a Bob Feller for my collection.

The hunt goes on!

You’ve got to believe there were a lot more of these made than we have seen. Seeing that Satchel Paige makes me wonder what other big name players are out there.

I'd love to acquire a photo key chain of Jim "Mickey" Vernon, as he was my second most favorite Senators player when I was a kid.

I'm not surprised. My guess after looking at the order form for a variety of items is that these weren't made exclusively for Dr. Pepper. I'll bet Dr. Pepper just found them available in the marketplace and ordered a quantity.

You’re probably right. Whoever the vendor was who came up with the idea of using them as a hanger on pinbacks was genius.

Default Three Additions

Not sure if you guys saw the Ebay listings with 2 more of these keychains. We can now add Earnshaw and Sawyer, a Phillies coach and manager. I've got another Phillies pin in route that I'll attach (even though they weren't issued that way). In addition, there is a White Sox Randy Gumpert but it's a little too damaged. Here's the updated list from above with the 29 players known to us.

ADKINS CUBS
CHIPMAN CUBS
D. DIMAGGIO RED SOX
DENTE SENATORS
DUBIEL, WALT CUBS
DUBIEL, WALTER CUBS
EARNSHAW PHILLIES
EDWARDS CUBS
FELLER INDIANS
GETTEL WHITE SOX
GRIMM CUBS
GUMPERT WHITE SOX
JEFFCOAT CUBS
KOZAR SENATORS
LADE CUBS
LEONARD CUBS
LOWERY CUBS
MAUCH CUBS
PAIGE INDIANS
RAMAZZOTI CUBS
REICH CUBS
RUSH CUBS
SAWYER PHILLIES
SCHMIDTZ CUBS
SMALLEY CUBS
SURKONT WHITE SOX
UNKNOWN YANKEE
VERNON INDIANS
WAITKUS PHILLIES
WALKER CUBS
