With the display of #80 Ralph Kiner, we are halfway through the set. There are several of us participating in this thread on a continual basis. If anyone is following our journey and has any 53 Bowman Color cards, please feel free to join in and display what you have. Is the best yet to come; well let's see what is shown for cards 81-160.

Al - Kiner was apparently an obsessive celebrity sniffer of sorts, and also an even more obsessive autograph hound. During his time as a broadcaster, he once found himself on a cross-country plane flight with actor Paul Newman. Of course, they were both in the first-class section, but seated some distance apart. Ralph went up the aisle to introduce himself and asked Newman to sign several times, but the annoyed star refused, said he had never heard of Kiner, and the two had an angry exchange in front some amazed fellow passengers. Apparently, Ralph had a lot more luck with the female stars.

#83 Jack Daniels Jack's career statistics did not match the fame associated with his moniker, batting .187 over the course of his only season in the majors with the Boston Braves in 1952.
