I will go out on a limb and say the ink just wasn't settled on the kind of paper the flip is on. The card looks fine and it's a 1. It's not like someone tried to put a higher grade in the holder. That is my best guess

Card looks good to me.
A dry erase type of label would be a scammer's dream come true. Brian |

Yeah, agree on both counts. Not thrilled though that the label can be so easily and cleanly erased. Someone will, if they haven't already, figure out how to use the old labels to print new ones creating a counterfeit item. Anyway to let SGC know?

Does the SGC Cert match a Jackie Robinson and have you looked to see if the cert # has ever sold where maybe you can see an old pic? Obviously, no issue with an "overgrade" unless the intent was to cover up an alteration (but who would alter a card that is a "1" after alteration?). The bigger concern would be an aged reprint that is put in a fake SGC holder to avoid scrutiny.

You're good, it matches the card that SGC has a scan of for that cert#.

Thanks, all. I really appreciate everyone’s input. I thought it highly unlikely that a 1 would have been tampered with but I couldn’t believe I easily I was able to run off the ink. I guess I won’t be keeping that flip in the binder.
