That's a special one, probably won't make it past several members here at auction.

The original (or a subsequent owner) could have altered the card without the modern day 'evil intent', for example coloring in a scuff in the background.

How is the Chance altered? Obviously an original collection, yet someone altered the card? Even if it was altered, one can assume it wasn't done for monetary gain.

Default alterered?

I agree. I do not understand how when a grading company receives 50+ original very rare cards they do not justify how they believe the card was altered. I would love to know as well. Jeff W

it looks short top to bottom, which may have been how it was cut at the factory.

Yeah...the Chance is garbage...don't bother bidding on it, b/c with the dreaded "A" designation it's essentially worthless. I'd be willing to take one for the team and bid on it, just so others don't have to.

Amazing cards!

Bill

All is hunky dory...PSA was just indicating that the card was factory altered.

It is so exhausting, the lack of consistency and honestly, knowledge from PSA. Just like they grade the overwhelming majority of American Beauties as "miscuts" when those cards were specifically cut narrow to fit the AB packaging.

If T206 was some kind of oddball set, maybe you'd understand them not knowing every detail. But we are talking about one of the most important sets in the hobby, and one they've graded more than a quarter million cards for.

Edit > the Bres With Bat also looks short top to bottom and it too was graded A.
