Rob,
I dont know why but you are correct in that N.Y. style of pin they really dont seem to come with ribbons and trinkets ... But the S.F. ones always seem to come with that red white blue style of ribbon and metal bats and balls and gloves...Maybe when they went out to S.F. as a new team they wanted to boost sales... As we know just a formality as you can add them at anytime....

Many thanks to close friend and net54 board member Chris Gamble, as I was able to add this great circa 1947-1948 PM10 pinback of Cincinnati Reds no-hit pitcher Ewell Blackwell.
On June 22, 1947, Blackwell became the closest pitcher to ever match Johnny Vander Meer's historic feat of pitching back-to-back no-hitters in 1947. Vandy was on the top step with one out in the 9th inning, waiting to congratulate his friend and teammate. Alas, it wasn't meant to be.... 75 years have passed and no one has gotten even close. ![]() Last edited by Scott Garner; 08-17-2022 at 11:19 AM. |

Congratulations Scott!
As a Reds collector who likes pins, I almost never see any player pins of Reds from the 40s or 50s offered other than the relatively common PM-10 of Ted Kluszewski. Those things are crazy rare. Quote:
