Thanks for your PMs on the other cards, Bobby. How about these 1972 Topps #343 Joe Namath Pro Action high numbers? They're pretty sweet (with one being o/c), so their 'value' (at least the two more centered ones) could very well be an upcharge problem in this sub, right?

possiblecards02-namath.jpg

1) Ted - miscut and wrinkled, 2) HR Leaders - pretty nice, 3 & 4) one Mick with a corner crease, the other with surface problems...

1) Willie - beautiful if not for a wave of wrinkles, 2) Laughlin Mick - heavy crease(s), 3 & 4) one Indians 'no dot' variation is nice, the other with a dinged corner...

Scan 1.jpg

1 & 2) Two pretty nice Willies, 3) (maybe not technically, because there is white visible) miscut Brooksie, 4) O/C Seaver...

Scan 2.jpg

1) Miscut 'no black outline' Pirates Rookies, 2) decent Thurm, 3) O/C on front, slight miscut on back Dr. J...

Scan 3.jpg

1 & 2) Two pretty nice 'Broadway Joes,' 3) Hickman 'no green in letters' variation, 4) pretty decent but pushed a bit to the top Gretzky...

No...those are $200-$250 cards at best....they aren't gonna upcharge over an extra $50.

Nope. Zero interest in paying PSA anything these days to "grade" my cards. They're so bad right now. They're putting complete noob graders who had never even seen a vintage card prior to their training last month on even high end vintage.

It's gotten so bad that I'm now looking out for recently graded serial numbers and looking for severely under-graded cards. They're everywhere. I'm getting PSA 3s and crossing them over to SGC 5s right now. And PSA 1s with no creases or wrinkles or surface issues of any kind that are crossing over to SGC 2.5, 3, and 3.5. It's actually kinda funny how bad they are right now. Don't get me wrong, they still have some competent graders, and occasionally, your card will get into the right hands, but you're playing Russian Roulette right now if you send your cards in to PSA. At least with SGC, they are reliably handing out fair and consistent grades. But with PSA, you can send the same card in 3 times and get a 2.5 one day, and a 4.5 the next. That should never happen. Some cards are on the fence, but no cards should ever be 2 grades off.

I hate defending PSA but there is not a chance they are putting new graders with a month training on vintage at the Regular sub tier. They have plenty of people in that grading room with a lot more experience for that stuff.

I have seen lots of under graded material coming out of both SGC and PSA but SGC seems to be leading the charge on consistently under graded material. At least that has been my experience over the past year or so.

I could show you several recently graded high-end vintage cards, from different submissions, that would make you change your mind.

Not debating that PSA put under graded cards into the wild. What I am stating is that even at the Regular submission tier PSA has plenty of graders with far more experience than someone with a month of training.

I am seeing a lot of harshly assessed material coming from both of them right now but SGC has been hammering vintage for almost 2 years. I know because I am buying that stuff and resubmitting to PSA for bumps. Even when the cards don't bump and simply grade the same at PSA I make money.
