Wade Boggs claims that he once drank 107 beers on a cross-country US flight, which would totally obliterate the accepted record of 52 by some Australian footballer. To revive interest in this fascinating and informative thread I would like to present Ed Williamson.
The year after he led the league with 27 home-runs, he set the record for games played at third base at 113. While playing third base in 113 games in 1885, he also was credited with exactly 113 putouts at third.
