This site has been great to me. I don't get spoken down to like I am a 5 year old here. That was the first thing I noticed about the group I am trying to sell in.

This was a pic I posted to show them the type of stuff I had....
![]() I literally had to explain why I couldn't price a 1955 Bowman Hank Aaron that looked like it would grade a '7' or an '8' at the price of what a PSA 2 would bring!!! That being said, what type of price is usually in line for raw cards?? Do ya'll predict what they would grade and knock $50 off? |

I'm in a football group that is extremely active.
A post/photo like that would get shredded. It's low effort, doesn't show the cards well, isn't well-lit, and has a giant flash hiding one of the cards. When you say they're treating you like a newb, what - specifically - are they saying? What are you doing or saying that's making people say those things? |

You can price several ways:
1) Look at a comparable graded, Subtract grading fees then 10-20% OR 2) Look at what the lower end of eBay sales (incl shipping) for comparable condition and adjust as you see fit OR 3) Reference GM sales and multiply by .7 ![]() All 3 methods should get you in a ballpark range for raw. I really don't GAFF about graded cards, but the one thing is that they are far easier to price. If you are targeting buyers who are looking to grade, you'll probably have to come down even more for them. I recently had this convo: Buyer: (offers 1/2 asking on a NMMT card) Me: Sorry, but it's very fairly priced. Buyer: Well after PSA fees, it would have to grade a 9 for it to be worth it. Me: Buyer: I really like the card I sold it later that night to someone else.

Hey, you didn't answer my question. You say you're getting treated like a noob - in what way? What are they saying to you? What are you doing to generate those responses?

They are explaining to me that I can't ask graded card prices if my card isn't graded. I was like....how else are you supposed to determine condition?? I just think they want me to sell my NM cards are VG prices. That just isn't happening.

I'm in the Harmon's Vintage Facebook group as well. I've sold every card I've posted in there pretty easily (small sample size though. Maybe only a dozen cards?)
I've also sold cards here in the B/S/T. In my experience, as long as you are asking a little bit below sold ebay comps, provide nice clean photos or preferably scans of the cards, and are selling desirable cards, you'll find a buyer pretty easily. But if you're expecting full eBay comps or above comps because "this is how much I paid for it" or "my cards are nicer than everyone else's cards", or if you provide blurry pics, or if you just offer no pics to begin with, then your chances of selling are very low. Basically, just be the guy/gal you'd want to buy from, and you'll do just fine. |

Has nothing to do with wanting you to sell NM cards for VG prices. Fact is, graded cards are worth more than raw. If you want graded card prices, you have to be selling graded cards. Other than that, look up comps on Ebay and see what cards are selling for there and price accordingly. |

It's different at shows where someone can closely examine the card in hand before buying it. You might be able to get a bit more there, but you still won't get graded comp prices. However, if you find yourself thinking that your cards are NM, and the feedback you're getting from buyers is that they think it's only VG-EX, you should probably invest more time closely examining graded cards. I'm not saying you're guilty of each, or any, of these things, but I do think these are helpful guidelines for a lot of sellers. I see people making these mistakes constantly. The majority of sellers in fact. I just ignore their listings and move on. Most buyers do. |
