The 1953 "plate" from Ebay is not an actual production piece from a card.
By color, it should be the black plate, but the name box, and the laces on the ball in the team logo were in red. Especially the laces, where it's obvious no black was used at all. It might be a plate from somewhere the card image was reproduced in a book in black and white, but even for that the quality seems very low.
