Both Evans and Tenace have a chance of making the HOF from one of the era committees at some point, too...so we'll see. The list will evolve!

I don't see it. Tenace was real good but not a HoFer. I think a case could be made for Vida though.

I think both are solid entries in the Hall of Very Good, I don't really see the case for either man.

I did see Vida during his Cy Young season at the ripe age of 21, he threw awfully hard. He sort of set the precedent for Dwight Gooden, spectacular start but didn't quite maintain it.

There are 18 catchers in the Hall of Fame.

By BB-R WAR, Tenace ranks 14th all time.

Of the 13 names ahead of him, 11 are Hall of Famers. One more, Joe Mauer, likely will be (the other is Wally Schang, who is at #13 on the list).

Two current players who are both considered likely Hall of Famers, Buster Posey and Yadier Molina, are 17th and 19th on the list.

The .241 BA isn't pretty, but a .388 OBP for a catcher is darn impressive. He's borderline for sure, but a lot better candidate than may give him credit for.

By comparison, Blue's WAR puts him 146th among starting pitchers.
