That shows you how flawed Similarity Score is. Glanville OPS+ of 79, Bates 122. Bates was a MUCH better player. Even if you don't consider an era adjustment, a .367 OBP is quite good, while a .315 OBP is horrible.

Glanville may have gotten some credit for his defensive stats. I agree that it's not easy to compare eras. They have Mike Mitchell as his contemporary comparison.
I was kind of hoping to show that Bates was more than a "common", but I don't think I accomplished that here. Most of the players that made it into T205 and T206 were pretty good.

Rob, nice job getting the Bates Broadleaf, I dropped out pretty early, but thought it was a great looking card.

I ended up snagging a few that helped fill some holes in my t205 and t206 set.

Thanks Ian. I think of the three SGC 3 Bakers, this was on the lower end, but I’m pleased with the hammer price. It also leaves me with only 7 HOFers left to find for the set. Good luck on your hunt for a Baker!

These monthly smaller auctions are a great source for collectors to fill in sets with single cards that would otherwise be accumulated into big lots in the main auctions. I appreciate the format.

The red Cobb was a 1 and still went over $2500.

The high-profile auctions full of $1000+ cards are great to look at. But barring some key card that I NEED to have, they just aren't realistic for me to consider at this point in my collecting.

The auction Sunday night had at least 50 cards, of HOF players, in mainstream sets, that were in a realistic price range for more low-mid budget collectors.

For me it was just a matter of which ones to target. While I understand how it could seem underwhelming to some, I loved it.

Got a few of the Boston Store cards including a pretty rough looking Ping Bodie to go with my Standard Biscuit Ping, and a neat Propaganda Montiel Ted. I really like those 1940s Cuban sets. Got outbid on the Dihigo as well as the E220 Sisler and the T222 Marquard. Whoever got that Marquard is lucky. Cool looking card.
