Just one for me. Overall I think this was possibly the weakest REA auction for the year, especially from a pre-war point of view.

I struck out on a few smaller things. There was nothing I needed for my collection. As for the auction, we need to remember they do one every month now. I don't think any company can have 12 super great auctions a year.
just my half cent...

+1 I was thinking the exact same thing.

I won the Tom Lovett (Boston) Mayo Cut Plug. I've bene looking for an affordable Mayo for awhile to display along with an unopened Mayo pack and pouch from about 1900-1910.

Desiderata

You are a child of the universe,
no less than the trees and the stars;
you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you,
no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.
With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams,
it is still a beautiful world.
Strive to be happy.

If low-to-mid grade T205 & T206 are your thing, there were plenty of nice cards to add.

I won 2 lots.

My first t205:

And a 57 Kaline (Sorry if it doesn't belong in the pre-war section):

I missed out on a 57 Ted Williams (mostly because this Kaline went for more than I thought it would), and sharp 60 Musial SGC 7.

Well, both of you outbid me, then.

I'm cool with my '41 Mel Ott, though.

T205 "Joe" Bates, "...one of the best batters in the league." Baseball reference has contemporary comps like Doug Glanville and Jose Cardenal.

That shows you how flawed Similarity Score is. Glanville OPS+ of 79, Bates 122. Bates was a MUCH better player. Even if you don't consider an era adjustment, a .367 OBP is quite good, while a .315 OBP is horrible.

I bid on it too. I think being the single card from the set was an advantage. Luckily, I wasn't part of driving up the price on it. Instead I got hung up on another lot and drove up the price on THAT one.

The 41 Ott was amazing. Made me regret not doing Play Ball. Yet still thought about it. Congrats.
