lots of new releases in these picks!

Sad state of affairs. If it isn't a dequel, prequel, reboot, etc, people won't watch it I guess.

Oh Man Animal House! It blows away any type of remake, ie Old School, etc.

However, I did like Back to School

One of the old talkies I always liked was Glenngarry Glenross

Trying to add some off the radar

Thanks for the responses. I have been hoping to identify some outstanding lesser-known movies to check out. Here's two more movies that popped into my mind:

Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956)
Body Heat (1981)

Many great movies have been listed, but I have but 1 favorite movie:
Close Encounters of the Third Kind and Saving Private Ryan.

Oh, okay, I have 2 favorite films:
Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Saving Private Ryan, and The Exorcist.

Three, I have three favorite flicks:
Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Saving Private Ryan, The Exorcist, and Invaders from Mars.

This could go on forever, so I'll end with:

Roger the Shrubber - "Oh, what sad times are these when passing ruffians can say "Ni" at will to old ladies. There is a pestilence upon this land. Nothing is sacred. Even those who arrange and design shrubberies are under considerable economic stress at this period in history."

Monty Python and the Holy Grail.

An old guy weighs in:

The Intruder (1962)
The Manchurian Candidate (1962 original. The 2004 remake with Denzel Washington is abysmal)
Fail Safe (1964)
Seven Days in May (1964)
Soylent Green (1973)
The Outlaw Josey Wales (1977)
Falling Down (1992)
