I like that the check is made out to Paul Mantz, an Earhart friend and advisor who said before her final flight that she was not ready for such an attempt.
Very cool Eddie. I looked at that for quite awhile. I 100% agree with Mike, it's a terrific piece. Congrats on that pickup.

Hope this is OK, as it's not vintage baseball.

I've not won much from REA over the years, maybe one or two other items. However, thrilled to win this last night in the extra hours.

I almost never see that card centered anywhere close to that nice! Great pickup.

I had a 1st happen with this auction - I placed my usual group of "placeholder bids" when the auction opened and actually won 1 of them!! Nice T027 broadleaf. Would have likely made a run at a couple of others, but there is so much more stuff coming that I want more!!

Thank you, Bob. I have been Facebook friends with the manager of the Amelia Earhart Birthplace Museum in Atchison, KS for a couple years. I have posted some of my Earhart cards from the 1930s in different discussions on the museum's Facebook page, and the people working at the museum were not aware of what is out there card-wise of Earhart prior to her disappearance.

Excellent pick ups. I thought prices were generally strong - holy crap on the 1914 CJ Matty!! And the Altoona Ruth was still going strong when I closed the computer and went to bed. A few other cards I watched out of interest that did very well include the 1907 Dietsche Cobb Batting, the E102 Wagner throwing, and the 1914 CJ Chance. Most everything else I was watching went strong.

I picked up the T206 Elberfeld, Washington Portrait, Blue Old Mill (shock) and a long overdue E103 Cobb (dont see these centered often)

I struck out last night, but if anyone here won the lot of Federal League player contracts and is interested in moving one, please let me know.

Another member and I got blown out of the water on the near-complete signed 1953 Topps set. If anyone here won it, between the two of us there are about a dozen we're after.

Tapped out on the e103 Cobb (glad it was won by someone here though) and lost by a single bid on the d304 Wagner. Probably going to be kicking myself for not trying one more bid on that one.

Needed SOMETHING so grabbed the cheapest e90-1 Mathewson with the back damage and old SGC slab. A consolation prize.

Whoever won the Cobb back got a steal? or Cobb back already filled all the demand of the collectors who want one and just "flat out" from now on?

That T206 Elberfeld Blue OM was a steal IMO. Congrats!

Glad you got the Blue Old Mill. I know you wanted one for your back collection. Also nice to know where it went. With so few of them, it's good to know where they all are. Plus I think it went for a very fair price. Being the Washington variation, I figured it would add a few thousand more on top of a standard price Blue Old Mill. What ever a standard price is lol.

Why is the Elberfeld a 1?

This was my first time bidding in the REA auction. I am very happy that I was able to pick up an Old Judge John Clarkson for my Chicago Cubs HOF collection. It’s not the greatest condition, but it still has great eye appeal and I think it was a great value, especially for a card that has not been easy to locate (and never at this low of a price). I wish had the funds to make a run at that Old Judge King Kelly since the Chicago variation seems very hard to come by, but dang it, it is Christmas and I have two kids at home.
