Mark....

While Brooks & Bob Lemon were signing free autographs in Ocean City, the Orioles played further north in Fenway Park.

Cal Ripken hit his 172nd career Home Run off Bruce Hurst that game, perhaps more importantly it also marked his 1000th consecutive game.

Here is the umpires lineup card:

Bill,

I was at that game.

I'll have to check if I still have the ticket stub.

The thought of me contributing anything to a thread like this........
The one and only Orioles ticket I have is from 5/25/88..... Why? It's the weekend series in Boston when the famous Billy FF picture was taken. What are the odds...?

Framed ticket with the card would make for a great display!

Day 178 (June 26, 2020 – 178)

When I was young, I didn’t really like the look of the Topps 1968 set, but now think it’s a great looking set. Topps went with the burlap meshed look and you’ve probably noticed the first series had a wider-messed burlap than on the remaining series of cards; unsure as to why the change.

Default Orioles 8x10 Publicity Photos

I've posted a few of these before. I'm not sure what they are actually called, but I refer to them as publicity sheets. They were used by newspapers and magazines, if they needed a photo of a player to insert in their publication. Many of these photos were cut up into individual photos, have missing photos cut from the sheet or have marks/notations on them from the newspapers/magazines. I really enjoy these sheets. A team set each year consists of 3-5 sheets. Morton Tadder also produced some of these each year, but these are not the Tadder versions.

Here are some of the complete sheets I have featuring Cal Ripken Jr. Cal had an amazing career and is featured on countless items. It's always amazed me on the number of items that spelled his name incorrectly. In 1991 and 1992, Cal's name was misspelled Ripkin, even though Billy's name was correct.

Alan...

There are a few publicity sheets with Cal Jr. & Billy here I have never seen before (thanks for sharing).

As far as the misspelling of "Ripkin" is concerned, that has always frustrated me as well although I think you'll find it interesting that both Cal Sr. and Cal Jr. have had their names misspelled going way back to their respective High School Yearbooks (and probably before that):
