OTD in 1979, the Orioles trailed Detroit 5-3 going into the bottom of the 9th inning & Doug DeCinces hit a two out, two run walk off HR to give the Orioles a 6-5 victory..It was this day that the phrase "Orioles Magic" was born...
Here is a signed/inscribed AP Laserphoto from that event: ![]() Last edited by roarfrom34; 06-22-2020 at 05:25 PM. |

Very nice! I'd like to find one of the stadium signs that say "Orioles Magic" on it. The example I've seen is relatively small, but very cool looking. |

Day 175 (June 23, 2020 – 175)
The 1977 Burger Chef Funmeal Discs are very common. The discs measure 2 3/8” across and can be punched out of a tray. Below is the front and back of the Brooks Robinson disc. I have the complete unpunched Orioles tray, but have never seen the advertising poster. Very cool. |

The 1962 Post Cereal cards were one of those sets that I believed I finished years ago. I was aware of a few variations in the set, but didn't realize the extent of them. I'm still working on verifying all the Orioles. It seems that most if not all of the cards have variations depending on the brand of cereal they were on.
Here are a couple examples. I was aware of the Jim Gentile (Home listed as either Baltimore or San Lorenzo). I didn't realize that Brooks Robinson had a cropping difference (either more or less of his fingers showing on the bat) SCAN8627-1.jpg 1962 Post Cereal Orioles checklist - 27 Jim Gentile 28 Marv Breeding 29 Brooks Robinson 30 Ron Hansen 31 Jackie Brandt 32 Dick Williams 33 Gus Triandos 34 Milt Pappas 35 Hoyt Wilhelm 36 Chuck Estrada Don't confuse these with the Post Canadian cards (fronts in English & French) and much harder to find smaller Jello cards. FYI, for some reason Brooks Robinson wasn't included in the 1962 Jello set, but the other Orioles were. |

Thanks Phil!
I was going through cleaning up some of my email and I ran across an email from you from 2006. We discussed this picture a while ago and now "we" know for sure I purchased it from you... Brooks Robinson pic.jpg |
