+1

I don't buy graded cards. But I agree. If I was trying to show off a card, and someone jumped in about possible flaws, that would be a real downer. I do like the monthly pickup threads, however. Those always seem to be rather positive places to post.

It's just 3 or 4 jerk offs that have nothing better to do than "inform" the board about the scandal and voice their "opinion" over and over. I've added them to my ignore list, but people still quote their lunacy.

I can only hope they break some of the board's very few covenants and are banned for life. It would make for a much more pleasurable forum. At this point, I dont think anyone is turning a blind eye to trimmed cards in holders, but enough is enough already. They arent posting any new revelations or insight to the matter and add nothing to the board.

Not trying to be a jerk because I can sympathize but when you start a thread, you invite people to comment. You take the good with the bad.

Don't be so sensitive, you shared a 1977 Robin Yount card. People share WAY better cards/items with out getting the WOW replies.

This comment touches on my thoughts surrounding this topic. The volume of my posts is very small, and that is because if anything I want to say involves an opinion of any kind, it will invariably get responses which are argumentative, critical, or just smart ass, and usually poorly written at that. It seems too many people don't understand that opinions are not facts, and we should all be able to communicate respectfully. My ego is not so big that I think my opinion is right, and everyone else is stupid. If I can't respond, and perhaps question or disagree, in a respectful manner is a way which adds to a discussion, then I need to keep my mouth shut, and it is my opinion that others should too.

I once was the foreman on a jury. The gentlemen in question clearly committed all three offenses against the law of which he was accused. However, in coming to a consensus as a jury, there was one abstaining vote on one of the charges. Through lengthy, but thoughtful discussion, we finally found the heart of the concept and the verbiage by which the rest of us understood that juror's point, and reticence to convict on that charge. He was right. What had seemed so clear to the rest of us initially, through further examination, wasn't so cut and dried in the language of the law. Yes, he clearly did it, but in the language of the law it could not be deemed a certainty. It was a powerful moment, and one which I always try to remember when my opinion perhaps differs from others. I wish others would have a moment like that.

When someone asks which one do you prefer, why shouldn't size matter? That is the first thing I look at over centering, corners, etc. I measure cards that I buy to make sure they are the correct size. This is the hobby we live in. It has been created by grading companies and certain dealers. However, I have been measuring cards since the 80s, so it really isn't all that new, just in the headlines lately.

One of them actually sold off his collection, and yet he has still chosen to remain here. He states how the hobby is doomed and how he made the right decision by selling off his collection because he is not going to be the one left holding the bag. He must have posted this about four thousand times, and I'm not joking here.

And then there is the other guy who is like a rottweiler on LSD. When he sees someone enjoying the hobby, he charges right at that person and bites him on the leg. There are people who don't even want to post on here anymore because of him.

Yes. Although I don't know who you refer to here, I have met the types for sure.

Rottweiler on LSD, LOL, who is that? I would like to find and read their posts for a great laugh. I find those posts as funny as the ones making excuses or down playing the scandal.
