Beautiful Don Mossi card in the 58s. First vintage set I put together. Actually just bought a collection tonight. I was only able to upgrade a couple of my set, but did pick up a nice starter set I am hoping to sell.

Love the 1958 Set. That was the first complete set I sent away for as a kid. I think the ads were in " The Sporting News". I remember thru out the summer receiving each series. I love the "Yellow "Variations ( had to fill these in later ). Basic set is not hard, but has a lot of superstars ! Master Set is challenging ! Yellow variations of Aaron,Clemente,Kaline etc. Around 40+ legit variations ( yellow variations and some checklist variations).

Randy jackson voice: It’s a no from me dog ! I disliked portrait cards and the color backgrounds. I like the all stars though.

Dave, when Boyd and Harris wrote their classic baseball card book in the early 70s, that card had gotten their attention. They put a picture of the '58 Douglas in the book, slathering it with a distinctive caption along the lines of----someone has got to be putting us on!

Whammy's actual first name was Charles, and he hailed from North Carolina. Lasted a year in the bigs as a Buc pitcher, going 3-3. The gentleman passed away five years ago.

This was the first true vintage set I put together. Took me a little over year, which in my opinion, was way, way, way too long. I ended having about $500 into it in Ex to NM condition thanks to trading for a large portion of them and buying lots/selling extras for more of it. I sold it about a year later for $1,500, so I tripled my money. I used the money from the sale to go to Disney World for the first time. Loved the trip, and we've been 8 times since then now, but I really regret selling that set.

I'm currently working on the set !! I like it, but I found I like the 1957 set better. I will keep going to finish it, not in a real hurry.

Default 1958

I love the 1958 set. I remember opening many packs when I was a kid. I never did put together a set, but the cards made a great sound when my friends and I used clothes pins to clip them to our bicycle spokes. I remember putting Mantles and Aarons on my spokes. It was fun, and the cards had little value back then.
