The validation/provenance is a letter from the family of one of Cobb’s former teammates.... you don’t feel comfortable relying on that?!

Default Young Babe Ruth

When shown this photo without hesitation everyone say its the Babe!--if that's Cobb, this is the Babe!

No way, both photos feature Joe Jackson.

Default Is this Cobb?

Add me to the list who don't think the photo shows Ty Cobb Sr.

For further analysis of the image, contact the Ty Cobb Museum in Royston, Georgia. Incidentally, they have an image of twelve year old Ty Sr. which doesn't look like the boy in the Heritage photo. When I last served as a consultant for the museum, it was in contact with some of Cobb's descendants. They were usually helpful in analyzing photos relating to Cobb and his family.

Look at the ears, it can't be him.....

Ty Cobb was born in 1886. Does that photo actually look like it came from the mid 1890s?

Is there any REAL provenance for this beside from the Ty Cobb Collection? If it came from one of Cobb's former teammates, does that mean that (most likely) the grandchild of the former teammate would know it was Ty Sr. for sure and not as others have indicated, Ty Jr. (born around 1910).
