But ultimately, why would any vendor who dealt with Georgia Tech buy these? It seems like these would be rejected.

I don't believe they put that much thought into it. If it looked attractive, that's about all that mattered. There is a big difference between the team's official uniform colors and a cheap pennant that may have cost a Quarter back then.
Not to mention, the Decision Maker (i.e. guy who made this pennant) probably earned about 50 cents an hour for his labor. It was a different world back then. |
