November Pickups

For some reason, off centered cards from 1968 don't really bother me nearly as much as cards from other years. Maybe the burlap creates an optical illusion, making it stand out less to the eye? I dunno, perhaps I'm alone in that regard. And what doesn't bother me in any way, shape or form is the fact I grabbed this Mantle (not off of ebay) for much less than what straight 6's sell for...

Very nice. I would be super happy with that for the price of a 6. In recent years, I've moved more into the camp of "can live with OC" if other attributes of the card are sharp. The lower the grade card I scope out, I want the centering to be better. But increasingly if I'm looking for a card with nice coloring and registration without creases, I'm more lenient on centering for some reason than I ever used to be. You are right, there are deals to be had like that out there.

Thanks Dave. Like jchcollins with that sweet 53T Paige, I wasn't targeting the Spahn but came across it while searching for something else. It was just too nice to pass up so I pulled the trigger. Pleased as punch with that pickup.
