Default Resale? French?

Well, if you are going to resell them, why do you need to complete the set?

To sell the "only set known", of course.

So after purchasing this card from this set from another member, I hoped to solve this long-time mystery by sending it to SGC. I provided the year, a detailed list of confirmed players (held by two fellow members and now myself), the similarity to the 1934 Gold Medal set, and so on, but unfortunately, they bowed out and refused to grade it.

Is it safe to assume PSA would do the same? This is my first experience in such matters.

This from PSA on the issue:

"Thank you for submitting this request.

Reviewing your Frank Sigafoos, we would need to have a full checklist of the set to be able to accept these If these are in the same style as another set, we would need to be able to tell them apart even if we had a checklist, so without more information that I was able to find, we wouldn't be able to accept them. If you can provide multiple sources which detail how these were released, year and a checklist , please do include those with your submission, but without all those details, I don't see that we could accept this card or the Indians set."

While I'm new to the pre-war regional scene, I know TPGs have graded cards with around four known examples. I don't know how they can say anything is a complete checklist without info directly from the company.

Any success stories out there on how you've gotten a TPG to recognize such a set? I know of 19 total cards that exist for this one -- 9 different players + manager.

Are there still a bunch of sets like this floating around with no ID after all these years?
