The subject of trimming, altering, etc. reminds me of stupider days when I shipped off my very first T206 Ty Cobb, bat on shoulder to a company in CA who stated they could 'recondition' my card.
Months later, I paid about $60 (ransom) to have it return...I could not detect any changes made... lesson learned...fairly cheaply, though back then (1990), $60 was worth much more than it is today. .

I know there aren't many local dealers left, but the ones that are seem to vouch for a lot of bad cards it seems.
