Up for your consideration in an exceedingly rare 1940's AAGPBL Macgregor Goldsmith Baseball / Softball.
A true baseball artifact it it's own right, this ball was made specifically for the woman who were asked to play baseball as entertainment while the men were away at war. Movies like "A League Of Their Own" have since come out to show the world just how important this time in baseball history truly was. While the ball is without a doubt a rare find, the true gem is the original box which you almost never find. While the box does exhibit wear, it still displays beautifully. One of the finest AAGPBL examples we have seen to date. $650 Up for your consideration an exceedingly rare 1937 USC Trojans All Time Football Team Award plaque given to Francis Tappaan. Francis Tappaan, a 1929 All-American end who lettered 3 years (1927-28-29), was a member of USC's first national championship team (1928). He played on Troy's 1929 Rose Bowl squad. He was a USC assistant coach in 1931 and 1932. He then held various professional positions in the business, education, legal and political fields, including serving as a vice president at USC, a lawyer and a judge. Press photo is pictured to show you Tappaan was but is not included with this lot. During homecoming of 1937 USC honored their All Time greats with these bronze on wood plaques which featured the Trogan Mascot. The original markers mark is still intact on the lower back of the item. One of a kind piece that you will not see again. ![]() Up for your consideration is an exceptionally rare 1913 Louis V. Aronson striker lighter made in the likeness of Honus Wagner. This lighter stands at a acceptable 5.25" and is a sure conversation starter. Aronson made many different types of lighters in the early 1900's, but this is without a doubt the most recognizable one. The condition is exceptional given it's age as the bronze shows the right amount of patina. While we do believe that the tear drop striker is a reproduction that was later added to replace the original one, the statue is certainly an original from 1913. Louis V. Aronson was a philanthropist and a leader of Newark’s Jewish community, who left his mark on history as the inventor of one of the most recognizable products of the 20th century: the Ronson lighters. They were almost permanent fixtures in the pockets, purses, homes, and offices of millions of cigarette, cigar, and pipe smokers in the years when smoking was perceived as sophisticated, not lethal. This lighter rarely makes it's way onto the market, and when it does the condition is considerably worse. Fakes have been floating around the internet as well, so buy from us for the extra peace of mind. $500 SOLD

Up for your consideration is an extremely rare hand painted early 1900's glass Philadelphia Baseball Player Candy Container - Bank.
The detail that was put into this piece is phenominal to say the least. We believe this was used as a candy container, however the lid has a coin slot which leads us to the conclusion that at one point it was used as a bank as well. This is one of the finest examples we have seen to date. $375 SOLD

Up for your consideration is a high grade example of one of the most coveted porcelain figural banks on the market. This beautiful 7 inch tall Brooklyn Dodgers World Champs bank was produced by Gibbs-Connor & Co in the 1950's.
These banks do not find their way into the market often, and when they do they sell fast! Gibbs-Conner was a small manufacturer of porcelain products located in Cleveland Ohio. Although it was not their main source of income, in the late 40's/early 50's Gibbs-Conner produced several porcelain banks with the likeness of the Cleveland Indians mascot- Chief Wahoo. Their work rivaled that of their main competitor, Stanford Pottery (also based in the Cleveland area), although their workmanship has always been considered a touch below in quality. As far as we can tell, Gibbs-Conner closed their doors for business in the late 50's. The original banks were not produced in large quantities and are still very popular among figural collectors. ![]() Up for your consideration is a high grade example of one of the most coveted porcelain figural banks on the market. This beautiful thermometer is in perfect working condition and the front glass piece shows no signs of cosmetic damage. This thermometer measures 12 inches by 12 minches making it the absolute perfect display piece or focal point of any room. It is rare to see these Rawlings thermometers make their way onto the market, and when they do they either do not work properly, or have a major cosmetic flaw. It has also been brought to our attention that fakes of this thermometer have began to make their way onto the market place, so please rest assure that this is without a doubt 100% original and authentic guaranteed. $900

Up for your consideration is an extraordinary and extremely rare Rawlings retail cardboard display, issued in promotion of the company's Mickey Mantle model "MM" fielder's glove. Please note that we have only seen one other example of this sign, and it sold at Robert Edward Auctions in 2012 for almost $4000 (see photo #6). This sign has been cut down by the original owner removing the part of the sign that showed off the glove. They kept the best part of the sign however as this features a photo of Mantle in uniform. The illustrated plaque below Mantle's image makes note of his 1956 Triple Crown Season and reads "Mickey Mantle - 'Player of The Year' 1956." Mantle was the king of the baseball world following his memorable 1956 season, which included yet another New York Yankees World Championship, and Rawlings obviously sought to capitalize on his popularity. The size of this sign was sure to catch the eye of anyone passing by, and Mantle's personal endorsement stamped in the pocket of the glove was probably more than enough to sway the decision of any red-blooded American boy.
Its visual appeal today is no less impressive, and this piece could serve as the centerpiece to any advanced Mickey Mantle or baseball-advertising collection. The piece displays a number of minor flaws commensurate with its age and former use, including a number of moderate creases, minor surface abrasions, and a few light scratches. While technically in Very Good condition, it still presents exceptionally well, as intended, and its rarity is such that anyone holding out hopes of finding a better example will most likely be disappointed in the long run. This is only the 2nd example we've ever seen! ![]() Up for your consideration is an original 1969 Thermos and Lunchbox by the King-Seeley Thermos Company. This beautiful pairing shows some wear conistent with it's age and intended use. Although it was intended for a child, it is the perfect display piece for the child inside of all of us. About The Company In 1960, the U.S., U.K. and Canadian companies were purchased by the King-Seeley Company to form the King-Seeley Thermos Company. In 1965, King-Seeley Thermos purchased Structo Manufacturing of Freeport, IL, a manufacturer of outdoor cooking grills. Ownership changed hands again in 1968 when King-Seeley Thermos Company became a wholly owned subsidiary of Household Finance Company of Chicago, which later became Household International. That corporation was attempting to diversify outside its consumer finance business and eventually bought and sold companies involved in transportation, retailing and manufacturing.
