Dan, I saw this card early this am...authentic Nodgrass variations have a partial S as you noted. I in fact, submitted the very first (authentic) example to PSA around 1998, and I needed to send PSA (Rocchi & Baker?) a letter detailing the variation, as they had never slabbed one prior.
