Default Jarvis field 1869
Jarvis field (Harvard), by George K Warren, with practice or game in progress. In 1869 the Red Stockings played on this field.

Default Tim Murnane tintype?
I believe this to be a tintype of Tim Murnane. Photographer is J R Applegate, Vine Street Gallery, Philadelphia. I would appreciate any help on the identification. Thank you

Interesting. I have a Joe Battin portrait tintype from the same studio and photographer. There is an interesting story behind them. I'll PM you.

So - you own that tintype. I've been asked about this one. I can't eliminate the possibility that it is Murnane. One can actually make a strong argument that it's him - too many individualizing characteristics seem to match. This one is associated with another tintype claimed to depict Joe Battin - that one also appears to be correct.
