Default Dog.............

Daisy.....12 lb, 14 year old mini schnauzer direct from the gates of Hades........
Nearly blind, nearly deaf and occasionally incontinent.

Photo right after she was groomed. An hour later she looks like a drunk
on a 10 day bender. But my girls love her.................

Default our 5

Our brood as of a few minutes ago. The 2 inside dogs are kind of freaked out because there are approximately 7 guys on our roof with nail guns putting a new roof on. Many dogs don't do too well in that environment. The outside 3 could care less about them except the male, Linus, barks at them for a while to start things off in the morning. It's his job I guess...(btw, all 3 outside dogs are together in a fairly large area that will be larger soon. They aren't separated. )

Murph (9 year old Wheaten) and I love to play toy toss with his stuffed dog. When I was traveling for a few days, and my wife was busy with the kids, she said Murph ended up following her around with his dog, looking for someone to play with him. She snapped this pic and sent to me, with Murph looking pathetic and wanting her to play, since I wasn't there. Love this guy!

Murph also has been known to join us in dressing up for an ugly Christmas sweater party....

Princess Dot and Lila Rose. They get the best of everything and their dad not only collects Prewar but is also a veterinarian. The doctor is always available for these kids.

Just acquired a PSA poor to fair 1917 Boston Store Sam Crawford, with wear, creasing and staining--does that qualify? On a more serious note, we had a wonderful American Staffordshire Terrier, Coffee, which we had to put to sleep six years ago, just a couple months shy of her 15th birthday (not bad longevity for an eighty pound dog!). She was the most wonderful dog--when my wife was working late night after night just after she had ascended to the presidency/CEO-ship of her company, Coffee would hear her car arrive and park in the driveway, and immediately erupt into sheer joy--"Mom's home;" Mom's home!" She had a propensity for getting into the garbage even thought she knew that was a no-no, and we used to punish her by putting her into the big doggy cage in the basement for an hour. After awhile, she would get into the garbage anyway when we were away, and as soon as we came home, she would sheepishly go downstairs on her own and put herself into the cage! What a conscience! Truly a riot!
The day she died was my 40th high school reunion, and although I had tickets, I just could not go--would have broken down into tears at any moment. Just sat on the porch sipping a black russian. They are truly family--thanks to all that have shared photos!

We now have 4 rescue cats (cats are easier) varying in age from 2 to 9, which we love dearly and they offer the same love and affection in return. One feral cat I brought home just over two years ago when he was only about 8 weeks old will go down into the family room while I am watching baseball on the big, high def screen and crawl up onto my chest or stomach, put his paws up on my upper chest in a pumping motion of affection, and lick my neck and chin. He is my baseball buddy, my little boy, but the others are similarly affectionate, giving back love for love received.

The wife is prone to saying, "We have too many cats," to which I will reply, "Yes, dear, we are truly blessed with cats." They ARE truly family!

Best to all the animal lovers out there--you are truly the best of people,

Larry

The grumpy looking gentleman on the left is Barkley. The concerned gal on the right is Princess Leia. These labradoodles are a constant source of joy.

Default Woof

It's an old photo (Christmas 2014) but here's mine:

The blur on the left is my mom tossing him a treat. Wonder will turn 11 in a little under a month. He had a cancer scare about a year ago, which he beat. He needed surgery to remove lumps from his leg and stomach, but he pulled through ok. He's getting arthritis now in his hind legs, but he's still a puppy at heart. As of this writing, he is trying to turf me out of my seat on the couch.

I've got a black Frenchie as well, Daisy. She doesn't mind worth a damn but wouldn't trade her for anything.

Default Izzy & Boomer

We got Boomer (Right) about 5.5 years ago and he originally came from a kill-shelter in Georgia. This past October we added Izzy (left). She was found abandoned in South Carolina during Hurricane Irma.

Default My Best Old Freind

This 'was' truly my best friend. Emmygirl. She was only 6yrs. old when she passed from a sudden ailment. She was full of life and loved to flush out birds near my home in New Hampshire. Emmygirl was an English Springer Spanial that enjoyed the show ring and won several awards. Miss her dearly. Using her name here on Net54. Jim
