I didn't read that, only looked at the set and the final selling price.

Now, considering it states that, which the buyer most likely would have known, I am surprised it fetched what it did?

I assume, if it was stated, that PSA would have also known that? This surprises me that the cards were graded as high as they were.

Like in another thread, a card with very small staple holes was graded a 1, (rightfully so imo) so I can't understand why these cards would be graded as high as they were if they had painted corners?
Is this, or was it an excepted practice?

It says only 53 cards were graded, so those cards are ungraded and would be considered either Altered - Authentic (0.5) or possibly get a MK designation (-2.0).
