I've been formulating my opinion for a couple of days and now just when I am ready to pull the trigger, I am too late. Shucks!!!

This is the same member that posted the Pope card a few months back, is it not? I seem to remember he got quite mad about all of the comments on that thread.

Since the Ruth is not for sale, I guess nobody will know how high (or low) it may have sold for.

Looks like the same. I found the thread, but it looks like the OP removed all of his comments from it.

You should try the BO forum a little more if you want odd threads. My favorite is still the guy with the Alex Rodriguez super refractor missing the autograph and 1/1 numbering. He thought he had a gold mine when in reality it as a sack of aluminum cans.

But you must be starting these threads knowing that many of the opinions may differ from yours. To some degree you're trolling and then feigning incredulity at the exact responses you are hoping to garner.

What were you expecting? You asked peoples opinions of the card, and they gave it to you.

I was mistaken when I called the card garbage. Since it's cardboard, it should be recycled.

Thanks for digging these up. My favorite was the "serious buyers only" for 1990 UD Ben McDonald cards. I only dare dream of such.

The personal insults were uncalled for but there does seem to be some disconnect from reality with your perceived value of the card. Not to mention the other strange threads.

When you post a picture asking for opinions, that's what you are going to get. If you don't want to hear everyone's opinion I would suggest not asking for it in the first place.

I actually think your card has some value, more than anyone else who has commented in this thread in fact, just not nearly as much as you seem to think. Assuming it is real.

Default goudey ruth

What strange threads?
Selling a ben mcdonald card or
Moises alou rookie is strange?
Sharing my pope rookie card.
Other people made the threads strange
The unrealistic value was given to me
$10$20 a reprint worth more.
No one will ever find a ruth goudey for those
Prices.
Card is real and regret asking for opnion
Or sharing card.
I still like my card and thats all that
Matters.
For the most part my experience this is
Unfriendly forum other than to look and search
for cards but not posting thread for opnion
My mistake
Thanks to all and good luck

Richard, I know this will probably fall on deaf ears, but I will say it anyway. Much the same way you are welcome to share your random thoughts. I have no idea what that Ruth would sell for if authentic, but I don't think even you could deny that it is not an attractive card by any stretch of the imagination. It is not an insult, but rather my opinion. I wouldn't own a card like that, period. If I had an authentic T206 Wagner like that, I would immediately try to sell it for whatever the market would allow.

I don't post here all that often and feel as though my collecting interests only grazes the boundary of most of the members who regularly post. I feel more comfortable on some of the other forums when it comes to sharing items and knowledge. I can put all of my prewar cards into a super shoe box comfortably. Certainly a member should not be ridiculed for a differing collecting interest, but this is a forum known primarily for prewar interests. To keep pushing Ben McDonald and Moises Alou cards kind of begs for the response you continue to get. Your replies do nothing to help your case either.

Imagine if you went to a very fancy high end steak house/restaurant and the waiter was trying to sell you a hot dog. That would seem odd to most. Ben McDonald is the hot dog in this steak house!

It's not easy finding an authentic Goudey Ruth card for under $100. Congrats!

Did OP ever state what was paid for this "card?"

And honestly when a card like this(or the ted williams for that matter) is so beat to piss...gauging authenticity can be a bit harder to discern.

But to me the higher the likelihood it is not real.

if I have a beat to death card it really is worth digging into.

If you can get even an "a" grade on these cards you a grabbing, then bonus points to you. Just be careful as they are very questionable. Comping psa 0 sales these really does not work as when you get in that territory its totally buyer discretion.

Don't overpay for a wish and a dream.
