Thanks guys......I'm really happy that you appreciate these extraordinarily rare pieces of early BB history.
Pictured here is Brooklyn born Tom York, whose 15-year career BA = .273 (played with 6 different teams, 1871 - 1885). ![]() ![]() TED Z . |

I've seen a lot of early scorecards but I'm not familiar with these. Beautiful cards.
Are these recent acquisitions or have you had them tucked away? Rob M. |

Nice scorecards, Ted. Here's a later one from 1884 of Boston's John Morrill from a Beaneaters/Quakers game.

Pictured here is Philadelphia born John McMullin. A southpaw, he started pitching for Troy in 1870. In 1871, he was the only starting pitcher on the Troy roster.
His 1871 pitching W - L record was 12 - 15 for Troy. In 1874, as an Outfielder for the Philadelphia A's, John batted .346 in a 55- game season. ![]() ![]() ![]() TED Z . |

Thanks....Rob McK. and Kevin C.
I wish I had more of these cards of the 12 players on the Haymakers' roster. But, you never know, perhaps someone on this forum will surprise us and post one (or more) of these 1871 cards. TED Z . |

Um, Ted, those scorecards are friggin' amazing. Most appealing to me are the photographs of Flynn, McMullen and York.
Just incredible.

Great scorecards, Ted. I haven't seen one of these available in over decade. I'm attaching a scan of one that REA auctioned back in 2004.

Thanks for posting McGeary.
McGeary and McMullin were the battery for the 1871 Troy Haymakers. TED Z . |

Let's try for one more go-around to see if we can find any more of these 145-year old goodies.
So far, we have 4 of them on display here. If my homework is correct, there were originally 10 Player photo / Scorecards produced (in unknown quantities) featuring 10 different members of the Troy Haymakers team. TED Z . |
