19K for a 7 these days? The world has gone mad lol. About a year ago I paid well less than 10 percent of that for this one. What happened to buy the card not the flip?

the POP may really start to change in the 7s ....like green cobbs the POP really changes in the 5s and higher..

You can still get a 5 in the 2000s so don't imagine a 5.5 really goes for that much more as half grades tend to sell for much closer to the lower grade than the higher..i have seen 2 grades mean 7-10x difference in price happens all the time

156 7s.
90 8s.

And that it happens doesn't make it rational IMO, particularly if one is collecting cards not flips.

right 4s and 5's are both in the upper 400s...counting half grades that's 1000 cards for 4s and 5s together which have close to an equal amount each...

6s about 300 cards

only 250 from 7s and highers...it would look the break point for a big jump would be a 7 and higher..so makes sense to be a multiplier at the 7 or more level..

Happens with goudey ruths generaly.. PSA 1, 1000 PSA 2 2000, PSA 3 3000 essential even 4s go for basically 4000-4300...than at 5 'bang' can be 7000+ a multiplier as well..

The bang number with the 1953 Mantle is a 7...but maybe 6 is getting into play, who knows.....but certainly not at the 4-5 level with 1000 cards...

A year and a half ago 7s were going for 4K. If you think a 4-5x increase in that short a time is sustainable, I would disagree with you. And a year and a half ago, presumably with similar pop ratios, a 7 was maybe 3x a 5.
