Is this the one that just popped up on EBAY? Has a full James Spence LOA. What it comes down to is how combfortable you are with JSA. This Was certified in 1999 and sold at a Mastro auction. Both reputable but just like everything else it all comes down to how confident in the TPA expertise you are. Unless its a personal check or it was signed in front of you thats what it really comes down to. How much do you trust some TPA telling you its "real".

True that!!! I would wait until David Atkaz, or Scott Forrest, Shelly or Richard chime in before upping a bid on a piece that could go into the 10's of thousands dollar range. JMO They helped me with my first Ruth purchase.

Yes, I am hopeful that all, or some portion of that group will venture onto the thread. I am DONE with the tpa's and had considered selling my entire collection because of some recent bad experiences, but I can't seem to do it. I've been collecting for over 20 years now and am still holding out hope to be able to pass down my collection to my boys.

No expert at all but looks good to me. I would also like to see what experts say. I love these high dollar pieces. Cant afford them but love seeing them.

If this is the EBAY item there are no returns. Others sales indicate this would be a 30 thousand dollar item. Its a 1999 LOA, which is before JSA (just Spence). One would think this item would have had the additional PSA certification and a current JSA certificate in order to maximize the sellers profit. Did you try the PSA Quick Opinion to see if it came back good?

Very good point. If I were looking to maximize my profits I would have JSA, PSA, GAI and any other TPA sign on to it. That is a very good point you make.

I would not buy it. It does not appear to flow well to me and with the high profit potential to forge it just seems too good to be true. I may be wrong, but I have to convince myself before I would listen to what others opinions are and I don't believe it is good

Your right David, if there is one thing I have learned from you and others here, is if it looks too good to be true it is because it is too good to be true. If this were authentic at a 30,000 dollar value I think the seller would have had more TPA letters than a 16 year old Spence letter to back it up.
