I remember back in the early/mid 90s Don Mattingly was always included in every insert set, but his cards were never valuble. The Griffeys and Thomas's were the ones that had value. You'd pull an insert and get mad because it's Mattingly.
Anyways, it seems the tide has turned. Now Don Mattingly cards sometimes can be the most valuable card of a set. Retribution for Mattingly. ![]() I bought a box of 1987 topps on a whim a few weeks ago, and this is one of cards I got. There is no 'TM' under the American League logo, so according to Beckett, this card is more valuable than the one with a 'TM'. |
