Default PSA 10 set

Some great input on here so far.

Here are some glaring problems as I see it:

#1 80,000 cards graded so far and ZERO PSA 10s of #692 Walling.
#2 There are 5 cards with only 1 PSA 10.
#3 There are more than 10 folks building a PSA 10 set on the registry.
#4 These numbers add up to a VERY frustrating and at this point IMPOSSIBLE venture.
#5 There are also a bunch of cards with a very low PSA 10 count.
#6 A lot of the current (low count) PSA 10s are in registry sets already.
#7 See #1 thru #6 above.

Good luck either way.

peace, mike

Thanks man. Im literally in no rush for it...If I get stuck on a few it is what it is and I will figure it out.

If I need to start with 9's for some that is totally ok with me

Default cool

You have the right attitude for this venture so good luck. This set is special to me as it was right during my HS years and Boggs was my favorite Red Sox player so this set is a beauty as far as I'm concerned.

peace, mike

Again, I think it's an awesome project. I wouldn't worry about the $. No one is going to pull up in front of your house and ask for $10,000…it'll probably be 10-20-100 chunks most of the time. I built a T206 set which i am reasonably sure set me back every bit as much and it was a marvelous journey. Unlike my lowish-grade set, of which I suspect more that 300 exist, I am pretty sure you'll be the only guy with a 1983 set like that.

Thanks man, totally appreciate it and I dont but I find it funny that others worry about how I spend my money. Im doing this over a few years so I am really not one bit worried about it.

There are 45 sets on the PSA registry. One guy has all but like 4 cards as PSA 10 and then others go down. I am number 31 so far with my 20.

I don't worry about how you spend your money. I could care less - it's your money. My point was, in 30 years from now, would your kids rather have a PSA 10 1983 Topps Set or $100K? My kids would rather have the $100K, but that's just them. Maybe they're different.

Edited to add: End the end, do what makes you happy. As I said in my initial post, don't let me or anybody else tell you how to collect. Enjoy it and have fun. Good luck!
