You should be able to get a presentable N162 Kelly, in a 1 holder, for 1k-1.5k (closer to the higher end).....just keep looking and be a bit patient and you will get a good idea. They aren't too rare and sell fairly often..... You should take a look at N28s also. To learn more you could start at the OldCardboard site....*icon/link at top of each page on this site.

N184 1887 Kimballs Champions
This is a neat series from 1887 with about five baseball players in its group. Also includes some multisport legends like Annie Oakley. Could be a different set that would interest you.

Though clearly cartoonish, the color Tobin Lithos are nice person because the color lithography is sharp and colorful. 19th century chomolithography is good stuff.
You can get a Tobin Anson for well under $1,000. Last edited by drcy; 11-09-2014 at 12:03 PM. |

Thanks everyone, I didn't realize how many different cards were made before 1900. I think it would be cool to have a few cards that are that old and have survived in decent shape. Any recommendations on where to buy them other than here or ebay?

And good quality front and back scans. The prices aren't great for some, but you can make offers to the sellers.
