Not many good pennant offerings but this one will do for me. (At this point I am focusing on early century Phillies and A's, so if you have or know of ....)

Cool jersey Scott. Like the rainbow jerseys too. Didn't you get an early jacket too?

I lost out at the very end on the Cardinals 1927 ball Friday night but did get the 1921 Cardinals scorecard as part of this lot.

Clint, I had a 1971 jacket that I wish I had kept. Unfortunately it was too small.

Picked these up last night: 1822-24 sports books (primarily boxing). No additional pics, so not sure what I have, but looking forward to reading:

I'm surprised how cheap the maris signed photos went for, three went under $325 after BP. But I fell asleep and didn't win any.

I always check out the Maris-signed items in auctions. The signatures on a couple of these looked shaky, so I quit looking. Maybe I was being a bit paranoid, but it has served me well when it comes to autographs.

Looks like you have three of these volumes (see link). Pretty cool. The engravings are exceptional. You'll have to teach us all the cock fighting shorthand when you get them.

I picked up this circa 1937 DiMaggio, so now I've got early DiMaggio, Mantle, and Williams signed photos. Really just a consolation prize after not being able afford the 1898 integrated 'Maine' photo and 1940s–80s autograph lot. If anyone here got either of those, I assume you know what you bought (otherwise, ask).

That DiMaggio photo is not a bad consolation prize.

Joe - thanks for the link. I bid because I am a billiards and boxing collector, and just wanted to read them. But nice engravings is a big bonus.

Those vintage photos with great inscriptions, in fountain pen, are SO MUCH nicer then the 8x10 color shots with a blue sharpie sig. that he mass produced at a show or private signing.

Greg...

Beautiful embroidered Oversized Athletics Pennant. What a great acquisition that was! Could've easily gone for double that amount

Thanks Mark. Amazing how many variations of the Athletics exist, yet have *never* even seen a STL Cards/Browns pennant from same era. Felt shortage in the midwest???

Greg:
I have seen exactly one in 25 years of collecting pennants. It was gorgeous, and was a Cardinals Pennant in a very early Mastro Auction. It featured a Head shot of the Manager, and I am 90% sure it was Miller Huggins. If not him, then Bresnahan.

It was featured on a Catalog Page titled "Mini Find of Maxi Felt". I can remember that much, but not the details of the pennant itself (early dimentia setting in). Anyway, Mastro featured 10 amazing Oversized Pennants from the teens, most of which featured head-shots of the Managers. I remember the following being included...

Cardinals / Huggins or Bresnahan
Reds / Joe Tinker
Giants / John McGraw
Brooklyn / Bill Dahlen
Phillies / Red Dooin
Braves / George Stallings
Pirates / Fred Clarke
Boston Red Sox / Red Felt with simple "S O X" graphics
Chicago White Sox / Green Felt with Ornate Leaping Fielder
Chicago Cubs / Burgundy Felt with Swinging Bear

All were in pristine condition, and the Manager variations all sold for $6 - $12K a piece. I would love to know where these ended up going. I completely struck out at the time, but have since acquired the same Giants/John McGraw variation and a 1st Year Yankees Pennant with a Frank Chance Head Shot (as Manager). Mastro did not include the Frank Chance/Yankees version in their offering.

I seem to have misplaced the damn Catalogue, and the auction occurred too long ago to appear in Legendary's on-line archives. If anyone reading this still has the earliest of the Mastro Catalogs, and can post a photo image of this offering.... pleeeease do so, as it would be much appreciated!

Mark, wow, that must have been some auction. I would also love to see pictures, the STL pennant especially seems amazing. Thanks for the info. Hopefully one of these resurfaces someday soon!

Nothing here yet. I'm told I will get an email when my item ships which I haven't received yet as well. Payment was received on 11/12.

I had lunch with Chris I. and picked mine up several days ago. It helps that Heritage is in my backyard (so to speak).
