There is a Griffith, Cincinna' on Ebay right now if anyone wants to own one. This is the fourth one I've seen with the I completely missing and a very slight T. I've also seen a couple close to that with a partially missing TI on an angle. This card isn't mine and I don't know if the seller is a member

Someone significantly overpaid for an altered card, upper corner clearly trimmed and card possibly bleached.

I believe they paid for the error, which now has five known copies, three of them given numerical grades

Not an error nor a variation. Just a plate wearing down or chipping as it got used. Just about every T206 has changes over time if you include scratches and the like. Too many people looking for ways to overspend

You can call it what you want, I said error because that covers a large variety of things from misspellings to production error, but it's a Hall of Famer with a significant amount of damage to the name plate. You can't find too many cards that left the factory with nearly two full letters missing and the bottom of the A is missing as well.

People have spent thousands on cards with one letter missing or even the Sharpe-Shappe card with a part of a letter missing, so I don't really think spending $175 on a HOF'er with a much more significant issue is overspending.

Robert how can you tell it's trimmed? I think my eye is getting a little better at spotting trimmed cards. But this one must be a little harder to tell. Can you explain to me please? Also bleach lol? I had never even considered anyone doing that.

Josh if you look at the reverse of the card you can see the upper right portion of the card has been trimmed. Also it appears to me the card has been cleaned and its most evident when looking at the reverse. I could be wrong about that but don't think I am its so white.

Bringing up an old thread because I see another Griffith/missing letters is on Ebay. Not 100% sure, but I believe the seller is a board member
